Active Directory integration


Community Server Evolution, a version of Community Server aimed squarely at Enterprise 2.0 customers, is almost done.

We've always had a great story when it comes to supporting Active Directory and other LDAP providers. In Evolution the Active Directory integration is even more extensive and we can pull in details such as title, department, name, alias/email, and other attributes. Further more, it can also push changes (when enabled) so that users can self-service updates.

Below is a screen capture out of Evolution - you can see some of the details pulled from Active Directory:

You can then also see the same attributes when looking at the contact information in Microsoft Exchange's Global Address List (GAL):

Of course there is a lot more you can do with this too - but I'll save those details for later.
