EA Facebreaker

Facebreakers.ea.com highlights Community Server’s ability to provide enterprise-grade blogs and an interactive community experience.

Electronic Arts (EA) is the world's leading independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for advanced console systems such as the PlayStation® 3, PlayStation® 2, the PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable) system, Xbox 360™ and Xbox®, as well as PC games, casual Web-based games, and games for mobile phone devices.

The EA Facebreaker team was looking for a proven enterprise blog that would help it promote the release of the Facebreaker title scheduled to hit the streets September 2008. EA wanted to provide gamers a new blogging avenue that would fit its existing marketing site framework. As a result of implementing the brand-agnostic Community Server platform, Facebreaker.ea.com seamlessly integrates into the marketing site from a look-and-feel perspective and retained content from the previous blog site

The preceding blog site did not offer an interactive community experience. The new Facebreaker blogs, however, provide insight into the game development and offer "teaser" information about the characters (aka, the boxers) that will be featured in the game.

Telligent provided the Community Server license, customization, and implementation. Telligent worked with Blast Radius on the integration and creative design.

"Community Server is a very easy, out-of-the-box tool to implement into our sites. The Telligent Client Services team was great to work with, met all of our needs, and was very flexible in their approach and execution." Matt Tripepi, Marketing Manager, EA Sports
