Global Communities

Global Communities

  • Really great panel presentations today about creating and maintaining global communities.  Would love to connect with other Telligent clients who have implemented or are in the process of planning global communities, especially those focused on Asian countries.  BTW, really great conference.  It's such a pleasure working with the Telligent team. Kudos for creating a memorable conference experience.

  • Npekala, can you tell us a little more about your community and what you are trying to do?  Globalization is such an important topic for many companies now that it would be great to get some dialog going.

  • Sure.  We currently have external communities (with both private and public groups) that are used primarily by our (AMA) members and site registrants.  Our organization is pursuing expansion into international markets (China and India) where networking with other marketers and sharing content will be a primary benefit of AMA membership.  We want to know whether we should have 1 global marketing group or create specific ones for each market we're targeting.  We also want to figure out the translation issue since sharing and commenting will hopefully be something the international members will be doing.  Also, are there ways we should be creating the group pages differently than other groups in order to appeal to these segments.  Lots of questions before we go down this route.  Just wondering how others are handling the international issues, particularly with Asian markets.

  • Hi Nancy!  It was great seeing you at The Big Social.  There are several customers who are doing global communities with whom I can put you in touch.  I'll drop you a line later today, ok?

  • Glad you enjoyed the session!  Also be sure to download a copy of the presentation itself - it has links to helpful resources that Bill, Forrest and Dharmesh use/recommend as you build global communities. Plus, Forrest travels to China frequently, so he's likely a great resource for your particular questions.
