Are there widget APIs in Telligent Community 6.x or newer for determining:
There's an API for discovering the container housing a widget, but setting a precise size of elements within a widget is problematic without knowing what page layout template and widget formatting have been applied.
Thanks for your time!
Is it possible to load-up your page, use jQuery to determine the css classes, and then make an AJAX call (sending the class names) to a .vm file that will return the slideshow markup and trigger it to start?
That way you could get your data client-side and still process it on the server..
I'm not sure of the context of this question but you could probably use Jquery to do this by finding $(".layout-content") and then grabbing all class attributes on the element to give you the selected layout class. You could then do the same for the widget I think.
Can you provide an example of what you're looking for? I think the general expectation is that differences between different views / formatting options would be accoutned for through CSS, where you can use the CSS selectors to target specific locations. What kind of differences do you want between layouts that can't be handled by CSS?
Thanks for the ideas! Is this data available as part of the in-process API? I don't mind writing my own widget API.
