I am using Telligent REST API and the response in xml is not contains user's password as mentioned in the wiki for this. How can I fetch user's password in external application using REST API or other way ?
Telligent evolution version 7.6
Wiki link I am referring is telligent.com/.../35102.list-user-rest-endpoint.aspx
Also the xml response and json response shown in the link are different.
For security reasons, we don't store a user's actual password - we instead store a non reversible, one way hash of the user's password, and then use this to validate a user's password. Because the hash is not reversible, it is not possible to retrieve a user's actual password.
But here telligent.com/.../35102.list-user-rest-endpoint.aspx
why it is mentioned in xml response that password will be received in response ? Is it wrong information which should be updated as of now ?
The documentation is correct in that there will be a password element in the response, but it will always be empty.
There two things wrong in documentation:
1. In actual case, the xml response do not have password element in response which I am facing.
2. The link I gave do not match for xml and json responses - as password element mentioned in xml is not there in json (check in the linked document).
