I am seeking advice or ideas or "how about" approaches to the 3 Q's listed below ... this is a Must Have as we upgrade to the new platform.
We are upgrading from v 4.1.31106.3070 to v 6.x; we are migrating all our data including discussion threads and reply to threads to be supporting in our new environment and CS6 application. We could use some help on an approach and solution to a requirement we have with the Discussion functionality.
In our current live site we support what we call a sub-post to a post. This parent/child hierarchy is only one level deep (see screen shot attached for example 1 and 2 of a sub-post to a post and 3 for a standard reply)
It has been heavily used and we have a long archive of messages which would be unreadable if we did away with feature. We've also gotten quite a bit of feedback that the nesting was both useful and appreciated.
Q1: How do we ensure in the migration of the data that the sub-post relationship is kept?
Q2: How do we then display the sub-posts in the correct order (if there is more than1) and with the correct parent?
Q3: How do we support the sub-post functionality in CS6?
