Email templates are basic email forms that use extensions (similar to tokens) to customize the look and content of emails.
In release 6.0, templates have been converted from HTML to XML. They do not use the same tokens are they did in 5.6, but instead use many of the same extensions that are used by Widget Studio widgets. Some extensions are unique to email templates. You can view the online extension documentation by clicking the API Documentation link (Control Panel > Site Administration > Setup > Email Settings).
The email template files are located in two places: the Web Languages/en-us/emails and the Job Scheduler Languages/en-us/emails. Note that if you make a change to a template, you need to change it in both locations.
