In Telligent Evolution, users can subscribe to content to be notified when new posts are made or a page has been updated. Notifications are also sent for various events as well, including joining a group, content being removed because it is abusive, or friendship requests. Email templates are used to define the content of each email. Users can also subscribe to an Email Digest of a group to receive a summary of what's happening in the group on a daily or weekly basis.
No standards exist for what email clients should support. Because of this, various email clients support different features of html and css. If a client doesn't support something used in an email, it can cause the email to render very differently than expected. To minimize this, it is best to avoid some of the newer html and css features. The sites below can help understand what is safe to use in email.
Adding new email templates and sending them is not publicly supported at this time. It is possible to do, but any code to achieve this will not be upgrade safe.
