I'd be most appreciative to hear thoughts on the value of using "folders" within Media Galleries. I currently work in Knowledge Management at US Africa Command and one of the things we try to steer people away from is the old Explorer-style storage of files in folders nested within folders. We've tried to push using a standardized set of tags instead that help expose the data to the search engine, but it's kind of like herding cats, if that's not too military of a metaphor.

People simply don't want to do that, whether it be through genuine work overload or habit.

I get asked a lot of the time why it's important to move away from using folders and even though I always repeat the same line, I think to the end users it sounds like a pointless culture shift.

Ideas?
