Little did I know when I received the call from my boss late last summer that my work life as I knew it was about to radically change. In the blink of an eye, I moved from program management within the product development team to a full-time focus on helping Telligent transform its processes, inputs and outputs, and tools.

Within about 100 days, Telligent emerged with:

  1. Strong processes for all departments, impacting both employees and external constituents.
  2. An internal collaboration solution using Telligent Enterprise, that 100 percent of the company participates in. All Telligenti know and benefit from the amazing capabilities of our collaborative software. And just this week, Telligent was named an InfoWorld 2010 Technology of the Year Award winner, praising Telligent Enterprise ahead of both Jive and Socialtext.
  3. A new telligent.com presence using Telligent Community, with a content management application built on top by FourRoads, one of our application partners. We listen to you (our customers, prospects and partners) and engage you in conversations. These conversations help drive our priorities for changes to our services and products.
  4. Use of Telligent Analytics for both our internal collaboration and our external website to guide our decision-making.

All of this experience has provided a great foundation for my next challenge: leading Telligent's product management team. Over the next three months, we will focus on several key activities:

  • Meet face-to-face with you, our customers and prospects, listening intently to your needs and visions.
  • Deeply understand the marketplace and anticipated evolution.
  • Ensure our product launches provide you with all you need to quickly launch and run a successful community, either internal or external or both.
  • Push the evolution of our user experience to make your community even easier to use (driving organic community growth and clear ROI for your company) and easier to manage (making administrators' and moderators' lives simple and straightforward).

I'm looking forward to hearing your input and feedback.
