Michael Phelps recently earned his place in history as the most decorated gold medal Olympian; Bill Russell is noted in NBA history as the player with the most championship rings, with more rings than fingers to wear them on; Roger Staubach made history in 1972 by leading the Dallas Cowboys to their first Super Bowl win. All different sports, but all great athletes – so what’s the common denominator? Dedicated training.

While we aren’t world-renowned athletes here at Telligent, we do understand the importance of training. That’s why we’ve added two new training workshops to this year’s The Big Social, our annual user group conference. Our product experts will lead two half-day training workshops: one for developers and the other for community administrators. Here’s the scoop on workshops:

Developer Workshop: Aw, Geek Out

Is this workshop right for you? This workshop is ideal for new customers and partners with technical backgrounds and some experience with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

What to expect: You will get an abbreviated version of our Developer training course that covers the use of themes, widgets, platform APIs and more. Over the course of the workshop, you will learn the building blocks for how to configure and customize communities using our recommended methods.

Admin Workshop: Type-A Personality

Is this right for you? If you are responsible for creating and maintaining the structure of your organization’s community, this workshop is a perfect match.

What to expect: This half-day workshop provides an in-depth overview of the Control Panel. You will learn how to set up, configure, and administer sites; create and maintain groups; choose the best applications for the job; manage membership; and moderate forums.

While we can’t promise that you’ll walk out as the next Phelps, Russell or Staubach, we can promise that you’ll gain the building blocks that you need. What are you waiting for? Register today!

(Pssst! Check back next week for details about our strategy and upgrade workshops.)
