Social is the new normal. Organizations that ignore social technology are missing out on a major market opportunity and will have to spend significantly to catch up. Telligent's Rob Howard and Cecilia Edwards share their in-depth review of characteristics of world class communities.
Telligent identified nine community characteristics that if met would merit “world class”, including:
- Identifiable business objectives – In a community, business goals are enabled through member relationships.
- Leverage the wisdom of the crowd – Very little guessing needs to be done when a company is able to get the direct input from the community.
- Membership has its privileges – Members of a community want to feel as though they have an inside scoop on what is happening at the company and that their membership provides them access to things they cannot get elsewhere.
