How to find total number of posts over a given time period?

  • I'm trying to ascertain how many posts were posted over a 3 month time period.

The data is clearly there, because we can see no. of contributions by day,  but there doesn't seem to be a way of finding a total figure.

    Any ideas?

  • Laura, I don't know all of the reports as well as I should, but have you tried going to Collabortion -> Blogs -> Summary?

In the report "Blog Statistics", look for "Total Posts / Time Period". If you set the timeline range to "Past 90 Days", then I believe the second number is what you're looking for.

  • Sorry, I really should have been a bit clearer - I meant forum posts rather than blog posts...any ideas on that?

Thanks for replying though, much appreciated!

  • Hi Laura,

The number of forum threads per day can be found in Collaboration > Forums > Discussion Threads and  Collaboration > Forums > Q/A Threads reports. The "Forum Answers per Day" and "Forum Discussions per Day" charts give you the trend in your time period and you can mouse over each day to see a number. But if you export that report to a Spreadsheet, you'll get a list of days in your time period and a count of threads per day. You'll have to combine Q/A and Discussion spreadsheets to get a total number if you don't care about the thread type.
