No. This was fixed in the ASP.NET 2.0 download of CS 2.1. Since CS 2007 is .NET 2.0 only, it includes the fix already.

Yes, CS 2.1 includes a fix for it. The ASP.NET 2.0 release of CS 2.1 uses a slightly different method of URL rewriting that resolves the issue.

I found this on Scott's blog, but it was never clear if MS released a fix for the UrlRewriting.

Was the "302" redirect error ever fully resolved? If so where can I read about it?

Thanks for the heads up. I renamed the file to htm as well. However, I do have a spinner.gif file in utilities, so I just corrected the html by changing it from

<img src = "../Spinner.gif" /> (broken link)

to this:

Just delete the file itself is what I would try. I was going to test this myself when I have some time. It's in the Utility folder.

I found out what the loading.html file is for, it's for the modal window here is the explanation from Ben Tiedt

It’s used as the initial document loaded by the IFRAME for the modal.

When a site is visited over HTTPS, IFRAMES created without initial documents can produce security warnings – the loading document prevents the warning from being displayed (though you may never see the loading document because the source document is changed quickly).

I think you will be fine with google and when CS 3 comes it will have even more improvements with sitemap functionality built right it, I would recommend if you are interested to check out Dan Bartels Google Site Map add on for CS it works great and will help improve with Google indexing.

Google crawls my site every week since I submitted my URL.

I have disabled the blog and other feathers as when I did a link scan the scanner was caught in a endless loop. This scanner pretty much acts like a bot and if this happens, an endless loop, th bot times out and will not come back due to the trap.

When I scan the sites now after I disableded the bog and other feathers I do not get caught in the loop but get a lot of error pages due to the below url. This is a js script but seems to have no purpose

I have asked what this code is for but nobody knows so I want to delete to see what it effects, all I need to know is what file it is under.

I think you're expecting to get things sooner. Without adding your site's Url to Google, it's not possible to get your site indexed in a short time. On the other hand for new sites, it takes at least two months to get a pagerank.

Having linked from two sites with high pagerank, event 10, isn't a reason to expect that Google crawls your pages in one month or more.

I can suggest you to add your site Urls to Google manually, install SiteMap module and wait for at least 1-1.5 months to see the effect.

Google doesn't update its index everyday or even every week unless you add a SiteMap to your site. It updates its index for my new posts but for my homepage it takes 7-14 days to be indexed.

If you want to launch a commercial site and pagerank + index is important for you, the common technique is to put an Under Contruction page and link to it for 1-1.5 months to get rank and force Google to find its way to your site then launch site and get benefits of SEO.

At the end I should mention that Community Server 2.1 SP1 is SEO friendly and 3.0 will be absolutely better than this. There are many many famous sites with high pageranks that are running on CS without any problem. SEO needs some techniques and the best way to get high pagerank is providing a popular content, choosing appropriate titles and keywords.

Looks like we now have pages in msn and yahoo, just not in google. I am going to do a reinclusion request and see if that does anything. I turned off the blogs and gallerys feature and it looks like my spider tool isnt getting lost anymore. We shall see what happens!

I am using the google cache really because pagerank is so outdated. Just through that out to say that both sites have been around for a long time.

Neither of my forums homepages are cached.

Also side question, do you know what http://forums.bubbajunk.com/utility/loading.htm is for? We are getting a 404 when we run a link scanner on the forum with this address.
