Hi.
I recently discovered that the roles settings for one of our blog groups was incorrect. I corrected the problem through the Blogs administration console, but by updating the settings for this blog group, it has become the default setting for new blogs. Is there a way for me to reconfigure this in the admin console?
Thanks
James
Community Server 2007 does not support setting permissions for individual groups. You can eitehr set defaults for all blogs (through Blog Administration), or set permissions for individual blogs within a group.
Thanks for the reply Alex.
Sorry for the confusion - I'm not referring to *group blogs* but rather to *blog groups*. Here's my full journey for the sake of clarity:
- Control panel > Blog Administration > Blog Groups
- I have three groups set up as a taxonomical structure for blogs
- I select 'edit' for a particular blog group
- Add new roles under the 'Permissions' tab and save
- Now when I go to create a new blog as a new user (rather than a *blog post*), it sets the default blog group to the one I edited. I need to change the default blog group to a different category.
Hope that makes sense.
Can you confirm what version of Community Server you are running - Community Server 2007 does not include the ability to set permissions at the (blog / forum / gallery) group level.
"Your version: 4.1.40407.4157"
It's not clear to me how that relates to Community Server / Telligent Community / Community Server Evolution, etc. Should I post this to a different group?
