Forum Post: Cannot Insert Media when adding a Wiki Page

I am using CS2008.5 -- 4.1.36.8414 and we have started using Wiki's and everything else is working correctly.

Anyone trying to insert Media cannot find any media listed as shown above.

I can put images files in the Sites files or my own area, but it does not find them.

What am I missing here ?

From what I can tell, if you are not signed in and want to contribute to anything on a Community-based site (e.g. start a forum thread, reply to a forum post, post a blog or wiki article, upload a file, post a blog/wiki/file comment, etc.), the only way to do that is to recognize you need to sign in -- usually through a link in the upper right-hand area of the site. There are no "Post" pushbuttons displayed until you successfully sign in. Is there a way to always show the "Post" pushbutton and if you are not signed in, trigger a "not signed in" event to get you to the sign in screen?

I also have a need to access tags via the API. Any chance this has been addressed? I did not see anything in the REST API documentation that looked like what I needed.

I have realised i was doing some crazy stuff above. So in the interests of making my post shorter and easier to answer I have created the following method to encrypt. Im trying to see if i can get the same value as telligent creates. I realised the IV and Key in telligent configs are already base64 encoded, so i have stored them as strings in IV and KEY, and decode them straight into a byte array.

We have been using Community Server 2008 on our server for about 3 years now without any issues. Currently we are working on a migration project to move everything to a different data center.

The new data center design now has an Apache/Apache Tomcat based proxy server routing the traffic to the Community Server. When accessing the site through the proxy server the first request to the default.aspx page will succeed but every subsequent request fails.

We have determined that the cause of the error is the creation of the CommunityServer anonymous tracking cookies. We have the vendor of the proxy server investigating what may be causing the issue but have noticed that there are two things different with the Community Server cookie compared to other cookies that are created:

1. The cookie domain has no preceding period in the domain name.

2. The CommunityServer-LastVisitUpdated2101 cookie has a semicolon which the browser treats as two separate cookies with no value.

Is this a known bug in CS 2008? I know we are using an old version, but we were hoping to migrate the site as-is without having to do a complicated upgrade at this point. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix these invalid cookie issues?

Our group is customizing all of the email templates to check one of the extended attributes for a security flag, if that flag is present we'll be securing the email to only say limited items instead of the full message.

My question is: Is there a common way to access Extended Attributes no matter which template I'm working on, and if not, is there documentation that lists the DOM model for getting these from each application?

Hi,

We have blog posts from various blogs on our homepage. Randomly, we're getting errors with the xml resource of "Weblog_NoPosts_Created". We encounter these errors also as logged in registered users, admins but for a non-registered user, this happens almost all the time but sometimes when the page is refreshed, they happen to be able to browse the posts on the homepage.

I've been searching CS 2008 forums for sometime but couldn't find a solution and yet cannot even identify the problem. If this sounds familiar, can you direct me to somewhere please?

Please help, we're a commercial site and this kinda ruins our traffic since we don't want to force people to register and non-registered users cannot see any content on our homepage.

I notice that your 'Description' element is actually empty - your content is actually in a child element.

You should either wrap your Description in CDATA or XML encode your description.
