I'm stuck. I had an old site running CS 2007, but the server imploded. I had backups of the databases and the Inetpub folder in the cloud, but not the Telligent Community Server folders under Program Files. I can't seem to find the original installation EXE, either. So I have a database, but would really like to get it back up and running.

Any ideas? Is it even possible to download the old 2007 any longer?

From what I can tell, if you are not signed in and want to contribute to anything on a Community-based site (e.g. start a forum thread, reply to a forum post, post a blog or wiki article, upload a file, post a blog/wiki/file comment, etc.), the only way to do that is to recognize you need to sign in -- usually through a link in the upper right-hand area of the site. There are no "Post" pushbuttons displayed until you successfully sign in. Is there a way to always show the "Post" pushbutton and if you are not signed in, trigger a "not signed in" event to get you to the sign in screen?

I have a new client that is using CommunityServer 2.0 I have never worked with CommunityServer so this is all new to me. I need to know how to modify a piece of code; however i do not know which source document needs to be modified for changes to take place. I need to move a closing form tag </form> further up the source file. It currently is causing problems. I found the closing tag titled </CS:MPForm> however by trial and error in moving this tag I have yet to find the source file that needs to get modified for changes to take place.

Hi Alex,

My CS 2007 system has just (circa 1 December 2011) started generating 3 emails per user per forum post.

My CS 2007 is ruiing in a hosted IIS7 environment.

I don't have a clue how to manage "worker processes" .

Any suggestions?

Hello,

I am trying to recover the registered users email addresses from Community Server 1.1 Build: 1.1.0.51101.

The site has sat dormant for a few years, and has apparently been hacked as well (or at least flooded with SPAM and fake users)...

I can't seem to log in anymore, password resets fail, and I tried doing an SQL backup of the database, but even that failed...

The information is not worth all that much, I am just trying to see if I can salvage those email addresses. Any ideas on how to proceed at this point???

Hi,

I am trying to set up a 301 redirect using the site urls config file but having no success. My redirect is quite simple I just want to redirect all requests to /products/buy-online/default.aspx to products/all-products/default.aspx

In the SiteURLS_override.config i have:

    <location name="buyOnline" path="/products/" >
          <url name="buyOnline-Redirect" path="buy-online/default.aspx" page="/all-products/default.aspx" />
    </location>

The above does not work.

Any pointers on where i am going wrong and which params to use "path", "vanity" , "themeDir" etc.. would be great.

We do not have access to IIS on the live server so cannot do this via IIS.

I have realised i was doing some crazy stuff above. So in the interests of making my post shorter and easier to answer I have created the following method to encrypt. Im trying to see if i can get the same value as telligent creates. I realised the IV and Key in telligent configs are already base64 encoded, so i have stored them as strings in IV and KEY, and decode them straight into a byte array.

I have subscribed to all forums and blogs on the site. I get an email update on any new forum post (showing that email is working in general), but I do not get any emails for new blog posts. I have verified that email is turned on for the blog, and for my user profile as well. The same happens to all other users on the site.

How can I get email working for blog subscriptions?
