1.  Navigate to the forums main page.  

  2.  Click Write a New Post.

 

The list of forums displays in a drop-down list.

 

  3.  Select the forum from the list. The Post a Message page displays.

 

  4.  Specify the post properties.

Compose Tab

 

  • Enter the subject and body text.

After you enter a subject and click in the Description field to begin writing your post content, Community Server immediately begins searching existing posts for duplicate posts, which it displays in the Top Answers list in the sidebar. Click here for more information.

  • Add any tags in the Tags data field.
  • Click Email me replies to this post if you want to receive email notification when users reply to the post.

Options

The Options tab allows you attach media files to the post, lock the post so users cannot reply, and specify the post's stickiness.

 

Poll

The Poll tab allows you to add a reader's poll to your post.

 

When you enable the Include a Poll in this Post setting, the reader's poll properties display.

 

Preview

The Preview tab allows you to preview your post and content before you publish it.

 

  5.  Click Post.
