Community Server has a spam blocking engine which is run against your site’s posts and comments. The spam blocker works by scoring posts based on a variety of rules which you can configure. You can also create and apply your own rules.
Community Server/Evolution requires that administrators or blog owners approve posts that score over a configurable threshold; if posts exceed another configurable threshold, Community Server/Evolution automatically deletes them.
Community Server/Evolution supports the following spam rules:
- Total URLs – Scores a post based on the number of URLs in the post.
- Flood from IP – Scores a post based on how many posts have been sent from the same IP in a certain time.
- Known Spam Terms – Scores a post based on the existence of certain words that are characteristic of spam posts (such as ‘viagra’).
Refer to Blocking Spam for details.
