After you create a new forum, the Evolution user interface creates additional tabs on which you can specify additional forum properties.

Procedure
1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Forum Administration > Forums. The list of existing forums displays in the workspace.

2. Click Edit to open the forum. The Basic page displays.

3. Modify the forum settings.

Advanced

URL - When a URL is provided (requires http://) the forum becomes a link and when clicked on redirects the user to the specified URL.

Index Posts - Determines whether or not content in this forum should be indexed for searching.

Moderate Posts - Determines if posts made to this forum require moderator approval. Unmoderated users will not have their posts moderated.

Enable Moderate Notifications - When enabled will send forum moderators an email alerting them of posts requiring moderation.

Enable Post Statistics – Specifies whether this forum participates in site level statistics as well as answered and unanswered forum status.

Enable Post Points - Tracks and assigns points to posts made in this forum.

Enable Post Autodelete - Forums will auto-delete posts older than the date range specified in the Auto-Delete Time Window.

Auto-Delete Time Windows - Posts older than the time specified here will be deleted.

Enable Anonymous Posting - Users do not have to be signed in to post.

Enable Thread Status Tracking - Site members can state whether or not their post has been answered.

Default Thread Status - Controls the beginning state of a new post (answered or unanswered).
Embed
Embeddable forum threads allow you to embed a Community Server Evolution-hosted discussion within an external Web site.

4. Click Save.
