We have a need to do reporting on adoption of the site, especially around a blog post. Our administrators want to know if a blog is being read. It is easy enough to find out who has subscribed to the blog and also easy to find who has requested a daily or weekly digest for the group the blog is in. The one missing piece seems to be finding out which users may have setup an RSS feed. Is there a way to get how many (and possibly which users) have an RSS feed setup for a blog?
There isn't any report specific to blog RSS subscriptions. The closest I can find is the "RSS Page Views" report (click Web Analytics -> Views -> RSS Page Views). This shows views of RSS feeds, but it's not limited just to blog RSS feeds.
Do you need to know specific users or just total number of people reading the post? Sounds like Telligent Analytics (for # of users requesting the rss.aspx page) or basic web (google?) analytics for # of views on the given post or even blog path wildcard.
Since you can anonymously subscribe to an RSS feed (for public groups), it would be nearly impossible to tell which users are subscribed - further complicating the issue is a user could subscribe to the feed on multiple readers on different devices which could skew your results.
You need more of the statements in this matter, so that we can understand. Thank you for sharing. I hope you happy
