Group Calendars
 Groups can have  multiple calendars.  Calendars support titles and descriptions
Events Calendars support the creation of events on a specified day for a specified duration.  Events have a title, HTML description and location.  A url can also be specified that will direct a user to that url instead of internally.
Event Registration Events support 3 types of registrations(or none at all).  Registration mode can be public, meaning anyone can register, Invitation Only, or Approval required, meaning all registrations must be confirmed.  An event has an editable maximum registrations field.  Anonymous registrations are also supported.
Search Integration Events and calendars are indexed in the search provider
Permissions

Permissions exist that can be modified at the group level for all calendars.  They include:

  • Group_CreateCalendar:  Allows a user to create a calendar in a group
  • Group_EditCalendar: Allows a user to edit an existing calendar in a group
  • Calendar_ReadCalendar:  Allows a user to see events and calendar information
  • Calendar_DeleteCalendar:  Allow a user to delete a calendar
  • Calendar_CreateEvent: Allow a user to add new events
  • Calendar_EditEvent: Allow a user to edit existing events
  • Calendar_DeleteEvent:  Allow a user to delete an exsting event
  • Calendar_CreateComment: Allow a user to add comments to an event
  • Calendar_EditComment: Allow a user to edit comments
  • Calendar_DeleteComment: Allow a user to delete comments
  • Calendar_ViewRegistrations:  Allow a user to view registered members
  • Calendar_ManageRegistrations: Allow a user to edit registrations(confirm,cancel,invite, etc)
Event Comments  Users can comment on events
Feature Events Events can be featured in the featured content widget
SPAM Blockers Event Comments are SPAM blocker Ready
Tagging Events can be Tagged
RSS Syndication Users can consume RSS feeds for Calendars and Event comments
Email Notifications/Subscriptions Users can subscribe to events and calendars.  Emails will also be sent to registered users for various reasons.

Aggregates Support for aggragate event lists
iCalendar Support for downlading events to iCalendar files(ics) for import into Outlook.
