Creating a Theme

Creating a Theme

This question is not answered

Hi there,

We're developing an application, using the new Telligent Enterprise 2 as a platform, and need to create a new Theme.
Even though the new version is highly customizable, we need to change the design quite a bit.

Does anyone know if there is any updated info on Theming available, yet?

Or if someone can provide a link to information on creating a Theme for the Teliigent Enterprise 2, if would be much appreciated.

The info available is for previous versions and things have changed quite a bit, so I could use some help.

Thanks in advance!

  • BTW, I've posted here, as the question stands for both Telligent Enterprise 2.0 and Telligent Community.

  • The new themes are heavily based on individual widgets (or ContentFragments.)  We’ve posted an initial tutorial about how to work with these widgets here:  http://telligent.com/communities/technical/telligent_evolution/w/wiki/ui-customization-with-widgets.aspx

    Hope this helps!

I understand that I can do a lot of customization via the widget customization.

However, if I want to change the design, such as the background, the footer, the top user bar, etc..., then I think I should make a copy of the Evolution2 theme and then customize it, right?

This was the MO for previous versions, at least. I've tried to do the same in this latest version, using an adaptation of what's posted here (http://docs.communityserver.com/advanced-themes/creating-new-themes/), but no luck.

My theme doesn't seem to load, even if selected in the Control Panel for site, blog and groups.

Any ideas on how to create a custom theme and make it work?

    Thanks

  • You need to export layouts from Evolution2 and import them into your custom theme. I am also working to create a custom Telligent Community 5 theme and trying to determine best practices. Stay tuned to my blog/our class for more information.
