Stopwords.txt File

Stopwords.txt File

This question has suggested answer(s)

Hi,

I am looking to edit or even remove our stopwords.txt file. The following article - telligent.com/.../19932.search-stop-words.aspx - states the file resides under 'Path_to_your_tomcat_installation\solr\conf'.

I am unable to find this file in the files I have been sent across for our Test Site or in the control panel. Is this a file that needs to be provided by Telligent?

Thanks,

Jon

The default location for these files would the path listed (ex. C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\solr\conf).  In this folder you should also see file like solrconfig.xml, schema.xml, etc.  This file is in the directory by default.  If for some reason its not there you can add it.  I've attached one that you can review.

Is your Solr instance running?  If so you can browse to the admin page (ex. http://localhost:8080/solr/admin) and on the this page look at the value at the top for SolrHome.

  • If we are a hosted, would this mean we wouldn't have access to the file path you have listed?

  • That is correct.  You need physical access.  There is not a UI to change these values.

  • How do I get physical access? Is it best to open a support ticket and sort this issue out that way? If so, thank you for your help.

  • Yes, please contact support.
