In Telligent Community 6.0 a new page, Manage Themes, allows you to import or export an entire site, group, or blog theme - including its factory default pages, headers, footers, and default configuration values. (The user defaults are included in the site theme.)

Such an export file is suitable for sharing in a marketplace (such as Telligent Marketplace), or for installing on other sites. You utilize the Manage Themes import function to apply the theme to your site.

The Manage Themes page is only available to site administrators - that is, users who have the Site - Edit Theme permission.

You have to import or export files for the same purposes; for example, if you export a theme as a site theme, you can only import that file as a site theme; the same is true of group or blog themes. If you try to cross types (e.g., export a site theme to import it as a blog theme), the dialog will claim that the import was successful, but the theme will not be displayed in the desired drop-down.

Export a complete site, group, or blog theme

  1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Site Administration > Site Content > Manage Themes.
  2. Select the theme type you want to export (site, group, or blog) in the Select Theme Type drop-down list.
  3. Select the theme you want to export in the Select Theme drop-down list.
  4. Click Export. Allow your browser to download the file to a location of your choosing.

Import a complete site, group, or blog theme

  1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Site Administration > Site Content > Manage Themes.
  2. Select the kind of theme you want to import in the Select Theme Type drop-down list (site, group, or blog).
  3. Click Import.

The Import Theme Configuration dialog appears.
  4. In the Import Theme Configuration dialog, click Browse to navigate to the XML theme file being imported. The following dialog is for a site theme, but similar dialogs are displayed for blog or group themes.

  5. Click Import. When the theme finishes importing successfully, click OK in the confirmation dialog. When you click the Select Theme drop-down list, the new theme file will appear in the list of available selections.
