After you create the gallery, you can access additional settings through the editing functionality. Telligent Community assigns default settings for files, permissions, and quotas. When you edit the media gallery you can:
- Edit the media gallery settings
- Edit media gallery options
- Edit media gallery permissions
- Edit media gallery quotas
To edit a media gallery, navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Media Gallery Administration > Galleries and Groups > Media Galleries. The list of existing media galleries appears, then click Edit beside the desired media gallery.
To edit a media gallery's settings:

Click Settings.

Set the media gallery properties:
Name - Set the name of the media gallery.
- Web address - Set the name as you would like it displayed in the URL. Spaces are replaced with underscores.
- Owners - Start typing the name of a user until Telligent Community finds the username. Select the username. You may select more than one owner.
- Group - Start typing the name of a group until Telligent Community finds the group name.
- Enable media gallery - Select yes to make the gallery enabled and visible. If you select no, the media gallery will exist but will not be visible to users.
- Index files - Select yes to have search index the media gallery's files.
- View type- Select the default view in the gallery:
- Thumbnail view - Displays a small thumbnail of the media file.
- List view - Displays a list of filenames.
- Default language - Select from the available languages in the drop-down list.

Click Save to apply the modifications.
To set the properties on the Options page:

Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Media Gallery Administration > Galleries and Groups > Media Galleries > [gallery name] > Options.

Set the Options properties:

Enable External Links - Enable links to external files. Read more about downloading files to the media gallery.

Enable Download Disclaimer - Enables a download agreement located in the Languages folder of the Telligent Community root folder. The user must accept the agreement before accessing a file.

Allowed File Extensions - Specifies the file types that can be downloaded to the gallery. Enter the extension types and separate with commas, for example: txt, png, pdf. If no file types are entered, then you can upload any file types that are not restricted by the Restricted File Extensions setting. If any file types are entered in the Allowed File Extensions field, then by default only those file types will be recognized as allowable files.

Restricted File Extensions - Specifies the file types that cannot be uploaded to the gallery. Enter the extension types and separate with commas, for example: txt, png, pdf. If you want to restrict certain file types, you will need to add them to the Restricted File Extensions field if the Allowed File Extensions field is empty.

Click Save to apply the settings.
To set media gallery permissions:

Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Media Gallery Administration > Galleries and Groups > Media Galleries > [gallery name] > Permissions.

Media Gallery - Attach Files Locally - Role can attach files located internally to the gallery.

Media Gallery - Attach Files Remotely - Role can attach files located externally to the gallery.

Media Gallery - Auto Approve Posts - Posts created by role are automatically approved and do not require moderation.

Media Gallery - Create Comments - Role can comment on gallery files.
-
Media Gallery - Create Posts - Role can download files to the gallery.
-
Media Gallery - Delete Comments - Role can delete comments.

Media Gallery - Delete Posts - Role can delete gallery files.

Media Gallery - Download Files - Role can download files to the gallery if the file types are not restricted.

Media Gallery - Moderate - Role can moderate files. File moderation is enabled on the file Options page in the media gallery management functionality.

Media Gallery - Edit Media Gallery Settings - Role can access the Media Gallery Administration section of the Control Panel. This permission should be restricted to users with administrative permissions.

Media Gallery - Edit Posts - Role can edit all files in the media gallery.
-
Media Gallery - Override Validation - Role can upload any file type even if the type is restricted and view inactive media gallery posts across media galleries (only via Web services).

Media Gallery - Rate Posts - File rating functionality is available to the role. Any user with the rate posts permission should have the read posts functionality as well.

Media Gallery - Read Posts - Role can access files and read them. This role is usually given to users without administrative functionalities. You will want to ensure that roles with administrative functionalities also have read permission.

Click Save to apply the settings.
The quota properties allow you to specify the number of files that can be downloaded to the gallery and the amount of storage space allotted to the gallery.
To set media gallery quotas:

Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Media Gallery Administration > Galleries and Groups > Media Galleries > [gallery name] > Quotas.

Set the media gallery quota properties. You should note the maximum number of files and storage space allotted to the media galleries across your site to ensure all the quotas for individual galleries are evenly balanced.

File Count Quota - Number of files that can be uploaded into the media gallery. You should note number of files specified in the media gallery quota global settings to ensure you do not set so high a maximum for a media gallery that you will not have enough for other galleries.

Total Storage Quota (bytes) - Maximum size in bytes allotted to each media gallery for file storage.
