In Telligent Community 6.0, the communityserver.config extension that controls the file types uploaded has been changed from blogFileStorageExtensions to AttachmentSettingsExtensions.
By default, Telligent Community allows blog authors to use file storage with unlimited disk space, files no larger than 4096 KB, and files with many different file extensions (e.g., images, videos, Microsoft applications, and other typical attachment types). If disk space is a concern in your environment or you want to control the amount of file storage that each blog is allotted, you can customize these to meet your requirements.
A group member who is not the blog owner needs Blog - Attach Files Locally, Blog - Attach Files Remotely, and Blog - Create Post permissions in order to attach a file to a blog post.
To customize the blog file storage settings:
-
Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Blog Administration > Configuration > File Storage Settings.

-
To restrict any blog authors from uploading files for use within their blog posts, change Enable Blog File Storage to No.
-
To specify the amount of disk space allowed for each blog for file storage, specify in Disk Space Quota per Blog the space in kilobytes. Enter 0 for no limitations.
-
To limit the size of files that can be uploaded, specify the Maximum File Size in kilobytes. We do not have a built-in maximum limit for this property. You should specify the maximum based on server disk space and the types of files that users can upload.
-
You can add or remove any file extension in Allowed File Extensions. Be sure each extension is separated by a comma.
-
Click Save. If you are in a Web farm environment, it may take up to 15 minutes for your change to take effect.
