Release 7.5

Release 7.5 does not support IE Compatibility mode.

Support for IE6 has been dropped.

Chrome support has been added.

Browser support in Telligent Community 7.5 is theme-dependent. Official support for browsers is divided into two tiers.

  • In tier one, Telligent evaluates all reported bugs including broken functionality such as inability to create content and display issues. The themes in this tier include Fiji (Telligent Community) and Enterprise (Telligent Enterprise). The browsers in this tier include:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 10
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 9
    • Google Chrome 26
    • Google Chrome 25
    • Mozilla Firefox 19
    • Mozilla Firefox 18
    • Safari 5 on Mac

  • In tier two, Telligent evaluates reported bugs only for broken functionality. The browsers in this tier include:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
    • Google Chrome 24 and below
    • Mozilla Firefox 17 and below
    • Safari 4 and below on Mac

If you are running Windows Server 2008 without SP2, you should install KB958854 to resolve some issues with .NET 4.0. Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are unaffected by this issue.

Telligent Evolution 7.5, which includes Telligent Community 7.5, has the following parameters for its server OS and software, .NET framework, search, and browser support.

*32-bit Solr technically can be used for a smaller-sized community, assuming the size of the search index is less than 2 GB. That being said, there are two reasons for the 64-bit recommendation: (1) When you start dealing with a medium to large community, the search index will grow.  If the index gets too large, it will push the limits of the maximum memory size for an application on a 32-bit system. (2) Windows 2003 is slowly being phased out. Windows 2008 R2 does not have a 32-bit version.

**For the caching server requirement, both the server and clients need to be on the same version.
