The Basic Options page allows you to display settings information such as your birthday, public email, RSS feeds you want to share, and a custom signature.
Basic Option properties
The following table describes the Basic Options properties.

| Name |
Enter a display name for yourself. This name is now you are identified within the community. The Name property is only accessible if it is enabled by the administrator. |
| Birthday |
Select your birthday from the calendar. Click Not Set if you do not want your birthday viewable by users. |
| Gender |
Specify your gender. Click Not Set if you do not want your gender viewable by users. |
| Language |
Specify the language you want to use for your profile content. The available languages depend on the language packs supported by your site. You should contact your site administrator if you have any questions. |
| Public email |
Public email address. |
| Share Favorites |
Decide whether to display your Favorites list to users. |
| Shared Feeds |
Enter feeds you want to share with other users. |
| Signature |
Use rich formatting to create a signature for emails. |
