A tag is a keyword or term associated with a post. It links this post to other posts with related information. Tags give you flexibility in structuring your Web site and help you map information. They also make the information in your Web site more accessible to users.
For example, a tag cloud, which is a Telligent Community widget, can be used on an application Home Page, group Home Page, or the site Home Page. In each case it scopes to that content. For example, the following capture shows a tag cloud from a group Home Page. The tags listed in the cloud are used in all applications of the group in varying numbers. But you could click "elephant," for instance, and see the two posts that contain this tag. Clicking "elephant" on this widget placed on the site Home Page would take you to all posts, in all groups/applications, bearing that tag. Or clicking it on a blog Home Page would take you only to blog posts in that blog containing "elephant."

The tags are listed alphabetically, but their sizes represent how frequently they're used. "Cat" and "kangaroo" are the largest two because they're used most frequently.
