You can use the enhanced text editor to add hyperlinks to external documents or to anchors within your page or post, as well as remove hyperlinks and anchors.
Add a hyperlink
You can add a hyperlink using the enhanced text editor Insert/edit link button.
- Open the page or post in the editing mode and highlight the text you want to hyperlink.
- Click the Insert/edit link button on the enhanced text editor toolbar
. The insert/edit link dialog box appears.

- Enter the URL to the page you want to link to in the Link URL or Page data field or select an anchor from the Anchors drop-down list. In addition, you have two optional fields:
- Target - Specifies the action that will be taken when you click on the link. You can specify any of the following:
- Open in this window / frame - When you click on the link, the hyperlinked page displays in your current browser window.
- Open in new window (_blank) - When you click on the link, the hyperlinked page opens in a new browser window.
- Open in parent window / frame (_parent) - Used in sites with frames. When you click on the link, the hyperlinked page opens in the parent frame rather than the current frame.
- Open in top frame - Used in sites with frames. When you click on the link, the hyperlinked page opens in the top frame.
- Title - Allows you to title the hyperlink, which you or other users can see when the cursor hovers over the link, as shown below.

- Click Insert.
Modify a hyperlink
You can modify a hyperlink using the enhanced text editor Insert/edit link button, or you can right-click the link and select Insert/edit link.
- Open the page or post in the editing mode and highlight the hyperlink you want to modify.
- Click the Insert/edit link button on the enhanced text editor toolbar
. The insert/edit link dialog appears.

- Highlight the link URL. Paste the desired link over it.
- Click Insert.
Delete a hyperlink
- Right-click the hyperlink you want to remove.
- Select "Unlink."
Add an anchor
With an anchor, you can use a hyperlink to link to certain location on the page.
- Open the page or post in the editing mode.
- Locate where you want to direct a link to, and click the Anchor button on the enhanced text editor toolbar. The Insert Anchor dialog box appears.

- Enter a name for the anchor. It cannot contain spaces.
- Click Insert. An anchor symbol appears where you have inserted the anchor.

- Click Insert.
Jump to an anchor on the page
You can jump to an anchor on the same page, or you can hyperlink to the anchor from another page.
- In the edit, window highlight the text you want to link.
- Click Insert/edit link on the enhanced editor toolbar. The Insert/edit link dialog box appears.
- In the Anchors drop-down list, select the name of the desired anchor.
- Click Insert.
- Save the document. When you click the link text, you will jump to the anchor location.
