In Telligent Community 7.0, you can use Google ReCaptcha, which is a Captcha web service used to validate new users on your user registration page.

Get a ReCaptcha key

  1. Navigate to www.google.com/recaptcha.
  2. Click Use ReCaptcha on your site.
  3. Click Sign up now and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account, enabling the key on all domains.
  4. Copy the public and private keys to a different location.

Install and configure the ReCaptcha plugin

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > System Administration > Site Administration > Site Configuration > Manage Plugins.
  2. Click Configure by the plugin name. The ReCaptcha support dialog box appears.



  3. Fill in the Public key from your ReCaptcha key page.
  4. Fill in the Private key from your ReCaptcha key page.
  5. Select a ReCaptcha theme in the drop-down list.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Select the ReCaptcha support check box.
  8. Click Save on the Manage Plugins page.

Set up the User - Login and Create widget to user ReCaptcha

  1. In Edit Page mode, select the Create User page.
  2. Click Edit selected page.
  3. Click Configure on the widget configuration bar.
  4. In the Mode drop-down list, select Create.
  5. Select the Enable Captcha on create user check box.
  6. (Select any other fields you wish to add to the user creation.)
  7. Click Save on the widget configuration dialog box.
  8. Click Save Page. When a new user registers in the community, he/she sees ReCaptcha on the registration form.
