Granular control of customize dashboard

I'm a newb, so go easy :).

On an enterprise instance, would like to use customize dashboard on a granular level.

Home page customize and exposed button limited to admin only

User profile customize enabled, but with some widgets locked down (and yes i understand how to do this)

Group customize limited to admin and group owners.

It seems though if I set no site customize capability in site administration for registered users, then I lose the ability to customize my profile? As this may be site-wide?

    Hi Jim,

    As far as I know this "customise" option is only available for the dashboard and the profile page and groups page are only editable with the "enter edit mode" option. If you give permissions to a user to be able to "enter edit mode" they will be able to customise all pages on the site, (group, user profile, reg, login...wherever). You can't just give the "edit mode" option for certain pages.

    Essentially I don't believe you can do what you want with the current permissions model.
