You can set the basic forum information on the Basic page, including forum name, description, and the group to which the forum belongs.
To set the Basic page properties:
-
Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Forum Administration > Forums and Groups > Create New Forum > Basic.

-
Set the Basic page properties:
-
Forum Name - Name of the forum. Choose a short but descriptive name. This is used as the title for the forum display within the forum group. This and the selection of the Forum Group are the only required tasks to create a forum.
-
Description - The description is displayed below the forum name. You are allowed to use HTML markup. A typical use of the forum description is to elaborate on the forum name. This setting is optional.
-
Group - Group to which the forum is assigned. You can assign it to an existing group or to the forum root site.
-
Allowed Thread Types - Specifies whether the forum is in the Discussion or Question and Answer format. To have the option of both thread types, both must be enabled at the site-wide level on the General Settings page.
-
Enable this Forum - Forums can be disabled by selecting No. The forum will still be stored within Telligent Enterprise even if it is disabled. It will not be visible or usable. Select Yes to re-enable the forum.
-
Default Language - The default language can be set for a forum by selecting an entry from the drop down list. You can override the default language set at the site-wide level.
-
Click Save to apply the settings.
