You can set default options that apply to all media galleries within your community. We recommend that you configure your site's global default media gallery settings with the properties which you want all of your galleries to use, or as many as possible, so you do not have to override them each time you add a new one.
The media gallery default options allow you to:
- Enable view type overrides so users can select how they want to view the media files
- Select a default view type for the media files
To set the media gallery default settings:
-
Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > Media Gallery Administration > Configuration > Default Settings.

-
Set the default properties:
-
Enable View Type Override - Enables the default view type override at the gallery level. If disabled, galleries will use the default view type as specified on the Presentation page.
-
Default View Type - Specifies the default view type used by all galleries. If the Enable View Type Override is enabled, the default value can be overridden at the gallery level. You can set the default as the thumbnails view or the list view. The list view lists the file names and file details such as the user who uploaded the file, the number of times it has been downloaded, and date on which it was most recently downloaded.
