As your community grows, you may find that you need to reorganize some of your content to make it more accessible to members. For example, you may find that a recurring issue or question appears in your forums, but has been answered multiple times, so you want to capture that thread to a wiki. Telligent Enterprise allows you to capture a thread - along with the users who contributed to the answer - with a single click.
You must add have the the Capture Thread configuration option added to your Forum - Links widget in your forums page in order to have access to this functionality.
How thread capture works
Thread capture supports both the forum question-and-answer (Q&A) and discussion thread formats, but in the following example we focus on the Q&A format.
After a number of replies to the original forum post in the question-and-answer format, a user has verified an answer.

You now want to capture the thread to a wiki. Click the title to open the thread. The original posted question displays first, followed by the verified answer and then all other thread replies. Click Capture to wiki in the common links list.

Telligent Enterprise opens a wiki edit page for the thread. You can use the editor to modify the thread text and/or tags so the new wiki page has a look consistent with your other wiki pages.

At the top of the editor, the original thread question and the originating user display. Immediately following the question text is the verified answer. The title and user names remain active links when you save your edits (unless you decide to change them). The thread now appears within the wiki and as a forum thread.

When you edit the wiki page, an active link to the forum thread remains in the article. When you click the link, Telligent Enterprise opens the forum thread. Once you capture a thread to a wiki, the forum post gains additional functionality for recapturing or removing the link.

Captured to contains the title of the wiki page, which is an active link that opens the wiki page when you click on it.
Recapture allows you to recapture the content of the thread. This is a handy feature in the event that someone edits the forum content or changes the verified answer after you have captured it. When you click Recapture, the new content is captured and the wiki page editor opens, which allows you to edit the forum thread content or re-save it as the modified wiki page.
Remove link to wiki, available only to system or wiki administrators, allows you to remove the connection between the forum thread and the wiki page. When you click Remove link to wiki, you will get a confirmation dialog window asking if you really want to remove the link. All links to the wiki page are removed and the Capture to wiki functionality once again displays in the sidebar.
However, even if the link to the wiki page is removed, the wiki page retains the link to the forum thread. If the wiki page is ever deleted, the link from the forum thread to the wiki is also removed.
