A Telligent Enterprise user can either be invited to join the community or join a group by email. In the case of a group invitation, a user will be redirected to the group home page after registering on the site.
Joining a group by invitation email
A user can be invited via email to join a group without necessarily having a community account. If he/she is sent an invitation to join a group (for example, gamers) and then creates the account, he/she is automatically navigated to that group home page. To invite a user by email, Use the "Invite members by email" tab in the Group - Membership List widget.
If the user navigates to the registration URL but doesn't fill out the form, the invitation email is voided and another one has to be sent in order to join the group.
You can't send a group invitation to an anonymous user.
The email invitation is voided if the recipient clicks the registration or acceptance link in the message but doesn't fill out the registration page. He/she would have to receive another invitation email and successfully register from that link to join the community.
