In Telligent Enterprise 4.0, the Parent Forum option is removed from the Advanced tab. The Minimum total posts option was removed from the user record Admin tab.

For moderation to function, both the forum and the user must be moderated and the user must not have the Forum - Auto Approve Posts permission.

Determine whether a forum is moderated

  1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Forum Administration > Forums and Groups > Forums > [forum name] > Edit.
  2. Click Advanced. The moderation status displays in the Moderate Posts option.

  3. (If you want to ensure post moderation, select yes on the Moderate Posts option.)

Determine whether a user is moderated

  1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Membership Administration > Members and Roles > Manage Users > [user name].
  2. Enter the username in the search field.
  3. Click Search.
  4. Click Edit for the username. The user record appears, displaying his/her moderation status.



  5. If you want to ensure user moderation, select the User is Moderated from the Forum Post Moderation drop-down.)

Determine whether a user role has the Forum - Auto Approve Posts permission

  1. Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Forum Administration > Forums and Groups > Forums.
  2. Find the forum you are embedding and click Edit.
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Select (one of) the user's role(s) from the Role list box.
    View the Granted Permissions list to determine whether any role he/she is in has been granted the Forum - Auto Approve Posts permission.



    If the user does have this permission this permission overrides other moderation settings, that is, he/she will not be moderated, regardless of other settings.
  5. (If you want the user role to be moderated, or want to make it possible to moderate individual users in the role, move the Forum - Auto Approve Posts permission from Granted permissions to Available permissions.
