Telligent Enterprise provides you with three easy options for creating a new thread:
- The Quick Post widget, available on the site Home Page, group Home Page, or a forum Home Page.
- The New Post button, available on the group Home Page, forum Home Page, or on a forum post page.
- The Start a new thread link, available on the Administration panel.
You need to have the Forum - Create New Thread permission to create a forum post.
Create a thread with Quick Post
- On the Quick Post widget, click the Start a discussion tab.

- If you have the ability to publish to multiple forums, select the desired one from the Publish to forum drop-down list.
- Enter a title for the thread in the Title field.
- Enter text in the Your post field. If both discussion and Q&A threads are allowed in the forum, the thread will appear in the selected forum as a discussion (that is, it does not have a suggested answer check box on the reply). If the forum allows only discussion threads, the thread will appear in the forum as a topic for discussion. If the forum only allows Q&A, the thread will be a question and will allow replies as suggested answers.
- If you want this thread to be a poll, click Use rich formatting and click the Poll tab. See Create a reader's poll for instructions.
- Click Share.
