Telligent Enterprise 4.0 has a new @mentions feature that links to groups, users, and applications mentioned in:
- Status messages
- Blog posts and comments
- Forum threads and replies
- Media gallery posts and comments
- Wiki pages and comments
How to use @mentions
When you type a username, group name, or application name in a post, comment, or status message, you have the option to use an @mention or not in your content. If you want the @mention, you have to select it from mention list produced as you type by Telligent Enterprise. If you do not select a mention from the list, Telligent Enterprise will not "force" the mention on the content, and that particular content will not be listed in the lists of @mentions.
Group mentions

The following example uses the [Quick Post]] widget, but @mentions work similarly throughout the interface.
- In the Quick Post widget status or posts; Activity Story Stream status message; application post; post comment, or forum thread/reply, type the group name, starting with @, in the post window. A drop-down appears, listing possible group matches.

- Select the correct choice from the drop-down list that appears as you type. After you make a selection, the group name has a gray box around it and the @ symbol is gone.
