By default, all users have the same avatar - the default or another avatar you set as the default. Depending on your site's avatar configuration, community members may be able to upload and/or select an avatar for use on the site. As an administrator, you can change this avatar if it is not appropriate for your community or prevent any user from being able to change his/her avatar to anything but the default avatar.
To change a user's avatar:
- Navigate to Control Panel Dashboard > System Administration > Membership Administration > Member and Roles > Manage Users.

The search capability displays.
- Search for the user you want to change and click Edit next to that user.

The Admin tab displays.
- Click the Avatar tab. The user's current avatar is displayed.
- If you want to assign a particular avatar to the user, you have two options:
- Upload an avatar:
- Click Browse...
- Locate the image you want to assign as the user's avatar and click Open.
- Click Update (be sure not to just click Save changes) to update the user's avatar to the image file you specified.
- Link to an avatar:
- In Link to an avatar, enter a relative or absolute path to an avatar. The path to the selectable avatars is Web\filestorage\CommunityServer.Components.SelectableAvatars.
- Click Save changes.
If Is avatar approved is set to Yes and Enable avatar is set to No, it indicates the user has not yet chosen an avatar.
If you see an avatar but don't approve of the avatar, and Enable avatar is set to Yes, you have two options:
- Set Enable avatar to No, which reverts the user's avatar to the site default avatar. (However, the user can still to upload a replacement avatar.)
- Set Is avatar approved to No, which prevents the user from changing his/her avatar. This setting combination disables the user's Change avatar link. (If this is set to No, the setting for Enable avatar is ignored.)
- Click Save changes.
