In this Customization Guide, we cover everything that you need to know to customize your community built on the Telligent Evolution platform.

New in Telligent Evolution 5.6: Capitalization in URLs is standardized in CSS in this release. Since search engines can count multiple URLs (i.e., the same URL having different letter cases) as multiple unique pages, we now use CSS to create a single URL to reference a page and prevent page relevance dilution.

New in Telligent Evolution 5.5: The following types of enhancements are included:

  • Greatly increased Quick Post functionality
  • Ability to pull feed from multiple sources for "mashups"
  • Searching and accessing content is now possible from other groups or their applications
  • Enhanced capability for administrators (such as saving a tab for themselves, even if the content on it is locked)

This section contains the following subsections:

  1. Customize with themes - Use our out-of-the-box themes to guide your style decisions, or customize both the content and appearance using tab additions, layout, and CSS theme customization. Import and export themes to other sites in your community.
  2. Customize with widgets - Create smart user Dashboard/Home Pages by adding widgets that furnish specific useful information, or allow users to select their own options from widgets that feed posts (blog, wiki, forum, media, unfiltered HTML); supply or respond to messages, and empower collaborative relationships.
  3. Customize your pages - Enable or disable a customization mode for users to create personal page layouts, or promote your community's brand with uniform widgets, layout, advertisements, and tabs.
  4. Email-templates-tokens - Customize the look of emails sent to users, as well as the information they contain.
  5. Markup information - Utilize our specifications for provided themes; our style markup guide, and CSS targeting information to style a widget, page region, all area within a page, or combine the style selectors in expressions.
