The following list details bugs that were fixed or will be fixed in chronological hotfixes. The hotfixes are cumulative, meaning that the more recent hotfix will contain fixes incorporated in previous hotfixes. Please contact Telligent Support to request a hotfix, ask questions about specific bug fixes or get additional help in applying a hotfix to your environment.

16 May 2012: 3.7.342.24831

19317 - Wiki edits are now captured correctly from the community so that it can be reported on appropriately (error previously showed cs_Sections as not found).
19286 - You can now successfully subscribe to an RSS feed for the Buzz Key Vital Signs Topic Tracker report.
18958 - Long-running tasks no longer cause deadlocks due to Evolution processes needing table or row lock on the ForumPostData task.
18564 - The help text was updated to reflect the 1, 3 and 7 day views for average time-to-solution for the "Answer Rate for Groups & Forums" and "Reply Rate for Groups & Forums" reports. Previously it showed a 2-day view in the help text that did not match the actual report.
18455 - All RSS feeds and CSV exports work correctly.
18450 - The Blogs > BlogsOverview report now works without timing out.
18031 - When using offload appliance for SSL, you can now successfully scope reports by specific groups without seeing errors.
17365 - The Users > Active Users > Contributions For Owner report now shows all the contributions made by the administrator or owner, including blog comments.
16747 - The Collaboration > Blogs > Summary report now correctly shows the comment count for any blog post that has been edited.

16427 - All reports correctly show users, regardless of when they registered for the community. Previously, some reports, including Top Askers, did not correctly show the username of the user.

22 February 2012: 3.7.342.22967

14507 - Update processes to import community content will now perform well, even if the process to import updated user data runs at the same time. Previously this was causing deadlocks for communities with large amounts of community content and more than one community being reported on.
14554 - Telligent Analytics now performs well when processing a large volume of web analytics data, both current and historical, including pages viewed, session duration, start date, end date, and more.
14793 - The Collaboration > Blogs > Popular Content > Most Viewed Blogs report now shows the correct number of blog views for each blog and the sort order is now correctly by most viewed first down to least viewed.
14795 - We now correctly determine when a forum thread is the originating question or discussion (top level post) when pulling summary data for forums.
15415 - For communities with a large volume of forum posts, the speed of the report calculation for the average time to reply is now optimized.
15491 - The web analytics reports now accurately reflect the full day's worth of page views, RSS views, browser usage, page exits, visitors, sessions, profile views, referrers, and user agents.
15725 - As you apply database schema updates from version to version, you will no longer see errors about conflicting variable names.
15911 - We now incrementally import user display name data from the community rather than trying to load it all at once, which can cause blocking within the community database.

17 January 2012: 3.7.342.21980

14245 - There is no longer a message in Exceptions.txt error that "te_vw_Sections" is an invalid object name when you run the SectionData_Updates and WikiData_Updates tasks using Analytics Runner. This error previously occurred because a query was executed against the Telligent Analytics database but had reference to tables inside the Telligent Evolution database.
13489 - The PctNewVisitorsTimeSliceData task no longer causes an arithmetic overflow error when adding a large numbers of users. Previously a large number of users (above 22 million) could cause the task to exceed its maximum limit. This was corrected with a code change in the task.
14243 - There is no longer a message in Exceptions.txt error that there is "Incorrect syntax near ',' when you run the UserData_Updates task using Analytics Runner. This error previously occurred if there were no failed password attempts due to a line of SQL code appearing incorrectly in that case.
14645 - There is no longer an issue with the UserDisplayNameData task returning an incorrect number of new Telligent Evolution users in the csr_UserDAta table when the number of new Evolution users tops 1,000. This was occurring due to a limitation in the selection query.

Previously, usernames over 64 characters could trigger an issue with unmatching source and destination data fields that prevented the tasks from completing. We increased the destination field width to match the source field width to correct the problem.

15 November 2011: 3.7.342.20509

11391 - The Most Active Blogs and Total Views Per Blog views were reports no longer show an inconsistent across number of time period views for the same blog. This inconsistency was caused by reports being filtered by different IDs. The BlogViewsDetailedReport.cs query now aggregates blog views by the section ID instead of the PostID.
11329 - We now ensure a personuser's own reply to a forum thread is not counted in the Avg Time to Reply reports.This was a bug fixed in 3.6reports. Previously, but now a thread owner replying to his/her own thread with a bump could skew the "How fast my community's threads are getting replies" metric. This was fixed in 3.7 as wellwith a change to TaskStrings.config.
11293 - Double-byte characters were not displaying properly due in Telligent Evolution, such as used by Chinese or other non-English languages, no longer display improperly after being imported into Telligent Analytics. Previously when the content was first created and inserted into Telligent Analytics, it retained the correct formatting, but once updated the characters changed into question marks. The SQL was updated to Update tasks setting columns using Column=use N'Valuevalue' instead of Column=N'Value. This was a bug fixed in 3.6, but now fixed in 3.7 as wellvalue'.
11328 - The ForumReplyRatesDetailedReport and ReplyRatesPerDayData reports now properly updates reply rates for groupsreport the number of forum replies. Also fixed ForumReplyRatesDetailedReport which was Previously they might have excluded some replies or not filtering filtered a thread starter's own replies . This was a bug fixed in 3.6, but now fixed in 3.7 as wellwhen calculating.

24 October 2011: 3.7.342.20106

1 - Fixed an issue with ExtendedAnalytics that required modifying the ExtendedAnalytics.config file with an out of box install of a community site using a virtual directory.
6 - Added a script to create the EA table and sproc and correct file spelling.
9 - TotalMediaViewsPerGalleryReport now displaying "N/A" for most viewed file if there are no files in the gallery.
10 - External link was not working; decision was made to remove the external URL from this report. Note: It's available via the click-through.
13 - Fixed issue in RSS for a number of reports. For four of the reports, a fix to ReportBase (Line 994): (ContributionsPerUserReport, TotalRolesReport, TotalViewsPerWikiPageReport, UsersPerDomainDetailedReport). For the other report (ExceptionsDetailedReport), a SanitizeXML function was needed.
14 - Fixed an issue in UserTypesOneColumnByGroupReport - The CSV handler caused a yellow screen due to a missing Trend column. I added the Trend column to the query to ensure that it matched the visible report.
15 - Reverted the X-FRAME-OPTIONS change in order to get embedded reports working again.
16 - Added a coalesce and left join to make sure and include all views.
18 - Fixed an issue with ContributionsByUserByDateReport where the post title for blog comments was not showing up.
19 - Fixed an issue with ReplyRatesPerDayData task ignoring replies made to the first threads created in Evolution.
20 - Using HttpContext username to get a user instead of relying on reportParams.UserId.
22 - Changed Increment Update tasks to honor dates (previously they had pushed dates back 24hrs). See 3.6 Hotfix change 19037.
24 - Updated ForumPostData_Updates task to use checksum instead of 'top 1000' method, removed importId use as well.
25 - Fixed an issue where ForumThreadData_Updates task was not sorting the data it pulled and therefore would not eventually update all records. Also fixed performance issues with the task by removing the top 1000 limit; it now only updates records that need to be updated.
26 - Updated BlogCommentData_Updates merge task to remove 'top 1000' and add checksum method.
27 - BlogPostData Updates - Moved top 1000/checksum techniques from 3.6 to 3.7.
28 - Changed WikiData_Updates to IncrementalUpdateMergeQueryTask, and updated its query to remove top 1000 and to add a mergequery using checksum method 29 - WikiCommentData_Updates checksum/top 1000 fix.
30 - WikiRevisionData. Also fixed an issue in #6 where ImportDate was not honored.
33 - ImportDt = ImportDt minus 1 day 34 - UserFriendShipData Updates - As this task is nota merge task, the updates copy all the data over and then just update. It's simpler and faster to make the task non-incremental as this would bring all of the data over via BCP and skip the unneeded update step.
35 - Fixed an issue where GroupData_Updates task was not sorting the data it pulled and therefore would not eventually update all records. Also fixed performance issues with the task by removing the top1000 limit; it now only updates records that need to be updated.

40 - MediaPostData updates - Ported updates to MergeQuery section from 3.6 and removed top 1000 and @ImportID checks from the add'l queries.
42 - Removed 'top 1000' and added checksum comparison to the merge query for WikiPageData_Updates (same as in 3.6 hotfix).
43 - ReplyRatesPerDayData task RollupGroupId <> NULL for threads with no replies.
44 - Number 11 under Security Options starts with "specify" instead of "Specify" .
45 - Fixed an issue where UserFriendshipData task was not properly set up to run as a NonIncrementalTask. Needed to remove the top 1000 limit and the ImportIdField.
46 - Removed that Updates.sql and added a schema patch instead to remove the tasks.
47 - Corrected ReplyRatesPerDayData query where numerator and denominator values were switched.
49 - ReadMe spelling errors.
51 - Added logic to exclude Post and Wiki Drafts.
52 - RSSViewsReport are all zero, even though RSSs have been viewed.
54 - TheActiveUsersData task would not execute until all of its required tasks had executed at least once.
55 - Media Gallery RSS hit was not logged in te_WebAnalytics.

What is the primary difference between Telligent Community and Telligent Enterprise?

What is the primary difference between Telligent Community and Telligent Enterprises?

Telligent Community and Telligent Enterprise are both built on the underlying foundation of Telligent Evolution, our collaboration and community platform that allows organizations to create interactive applications. Telligent Enterprise is designed for public, external communities where moderation, security, and other monitoring tools are required. Furthermore, Telligent Enterprise is locked down out of the box. Telligent Community is designed to work best for private communities where more flexibility and trust is bestowed on the end users.

I have a previous edition of a Telligent product and would like to upgrade to Telligent Community^tm 6.0 or Telligent Enterprise ^tm 3.0. How do I do this?

Customers who have a previous version of a Telligent product and are current on their maintenance and support agreements are eligible to upgrade to Telligent Community 6.0 or Telligent Enterprise 3.0 for no additional licensing cost. Please contact Telligent to begin this process.

Yes, customers who are current on maintenance and support are eligible to upgrade to a similar edition of Telligent Community 6.0 for no additional licensing cost. Please contact Telligent Support.

Telligent will continue providing ongoing enhancements to our platform, but due to the competitive market and ongoing research and development, we do not publish product road map in advance.

Can a demo license be used in production environments?

The demo license only permits users to test and evaluate the software on a local server. Use of the demo license in a production environment is prohibited. The demo license may be used for testing and development purposes.

Is a license required for staging and/or developers?

Yes, all uses of Telligent’s software require a license in order to function. For development or staging environments, we recommend working with the Telligent Sales team to determine the appropriate number of licenses necessary.

Video Transcoding

The Telligent Video Transcoding module optimizes the video viewing experience for your community audience by taking advantage of the HTML5 capabilities of the most popular browsers, including Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome 15, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox 4. As videos are uploaded into the community in any format, they are automatically transcoded into an HTML5-compatible format, but also have a Flash-compatible version for older browsers. While the video is being transcoded, your audience can still view the videos in their original format.

As an administrator, you have configuration options that include bitrate, maximum height and width, aspect ratios and time at which a snapshot is taken to show as a preview where the video is shown in lists of available videos.

We have provided a full installation and configuration guide to ensure you can successfully implement the Video Transcoding module within your community. The Video Transcoding module is available for download in the Telligent Marketplace.

The following list details bugs that were fixed or will be fixed in chronological hotfixes. The hotfixes are cumulative, meaning that the more recent hotfix will contain fixes incorporated in previous hotfixes. Please contact Telligent Support to request any hotfix shown here, ask questions about specific bug fixes or get additional help in applying the hotfixes to your environment.

15995 - A forum thread reply no longer shows an attachment from the reply of a different thread when the forum thread and reply IDs are the same.
16204 - Media gallery posts with videos now scale to the correct size within the theme's constraints or to the dimensions specified to the viewer.
16521 - When customers exceed the number of registered servers in their license, they are now given a grace period of 14 days before being shut down.
16569 - Posts made between one and two years ago are now correctly labeled as "more than one year ago."
16600 - In the Membership List widget, the group member type is no longer improperly localized.
16672 - When upgrading from 5.6 to 6.0, mirrored feed blogs are now properly handled, linking back to the original source of the blog post.
16744 - When the user name is an email address, the user hover-over now works correctly.
16748 - Forum attachments are now linked correctly, including within Q&A forums.
16894 - Group names (such as LDAP group names) are filtered for special characters or missing characters before being passed along to LDAP. This sanitizes the input before it is used for looking up information in LDAP.
17137 - Extended characters are no longer encoded in wiki post titles generated from Capture to Wiki from a forum thread.
17160 - Tables in forum posts now display correctly in the post preview.
17180 - The spam module now runs correctly when content is updating.
17593 - The user's language preference for date time and format now displays correctly.
17965 - You can now modify custom navigation to include a custom content page (using $core_v2_customNavigation.Deserialize).
18212 - The video file viewer no longer allows domain-level script access and only allows it for the inline file viewer.
