Is there any functionality in CS 2007 to allow a user to block or ignore another user, specifically with regards to private messages, but also in the forums? I couldn't find anything, so I assume that that means it isn't there. What about 2008? Is this in the upcoming code base at all?

I have to respectively disagree - supporting OpenID doesn't give you a free pass to CardSpace. In the OpenID (and LiveID) situations, CardSpace is just a way to get a more secure logon and effectively replaces your username/pwd prompts. It's not the same thing as directly supporting a CardSpace...
